Frequently Asked Questions

What is Airbrush Tanning?

Airbrush tanning is the manual application of a DHA solution to give you a natural, healthy glow. A trained technician will come to your home or office, giving you a perfect sun-kissed look in less than 30 minutes. Results can be seen immediately, although it's best to let the solution sit on your skin for at least six to eight hours before showering, as this will ensure you get the darkest level of tan. When you shower, the bronzer will wash off and the underlying DHA will result in a beautiful glow that is one to two shades darker than your natural color.

What is DHA?

DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is a safe, natural and sunless solution that comes from raw sugar cane. It reacts with the amino acids from the top layer of your skin, which creates the sunless bronze look without having that fake, “orange” tint.

DHA is FDA-approved for cosmetic use, and has been used in sunless tanning products for decades.

How Long Will My Tan Last?

Your tan will typically last seven to 10 days and will gradually fade over time. The length of the tan will also depend on your skin care routine. The more you moisturize, the longer it will last.

How Long Does Each Session Take?

The entire tanning session lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. This includes the time it takes to set up our pop-up tent and to pack up and leave. The actually spraying process only takes about 10 minutes.

What Should I do to Prepare for my Airbrush Session?

Before your airbrush tan, you should shower using an oil-free exfoliator, making sure to slough off any dead skin. Do not wear any lotions, makeup or deodorant, as these will act as a barrier to prevent the solution from reacting with the skin.

What Should I Wear to the Airbrush Tanning Session?

Most women choose to wear a bathing suit or a thong to minimize tan lines. Men should wear boxers, swim trunks or shorts. Our tanning specialists use the utmost discretion during your session.

What Should I Wear After the Session?

Following your spray tan, you should wear dark, loose-fitting clothing and sandals to avoid getting it on your clothes. However, the solution is water-soluble, so it will not stain.

How Soon Can I Shower After the Tan?

Allow at least six to eight hours before you shower. Twelve hours would be ideal, as DHA needs this amount of time to fully develop the color.

What are Post-Tanning Instructions?

After your tan, try to stay away from scrubbing your skin with washcloths or loofas, as these can cause it to fade more quickly. Instead, use a clear shower gel directly on the body and pat your skin dry instead of rubbing it.

The more you moisturize, the better the results. Stay away from lotions containing oil, however.
